Pride is Movement
It’s time to Ball out
Pride isn’t just a movement.
Pride is movement.
Since the beginning, Pride has been about dancing, voguing, strutting, celebrating, rebelling and making your presence known.
In June 2023, Vital Proteins partnered with the Chicago Vogue School to celebrate Pride. Voguing is a style of dance with roots in marginalized Queer and Black communities. It grew out of the underground Ballroom scene in New York, eventually spreading across the country and infiltrating popular culture.
The Chicago Vogue School is a part of Taskforce Prevention & Community Services, a grassroots organization committed to the wellbeing of LGBTQ+ youth of color in our hometown of Chicago. And while there are no official classes, plenty of teenagers and young adults stop by every week to kiki and dance.
By focusing on the culture and traditions of Ballroom culture, Vital Proteins was able to showcase rising talent in their hometown of Chicago and (quite literally) support bodies in motion.
